11/20/2008 Optoma HD806 1080p Multimedia Projector Review
The Optoma HD806 is the newest of Optoma's family of DLP 1080p projectors. From the outside, the HD806 looks identical to the HD80, released in July of 2007. We reviewed it at that time and we were extremely enthused with it, eventually giving it an Editor's Choice Award. The HD80 was quickly followed by the HD8000, which is basically the same projector with some additional calibration features, and it is sold through the CEDIA channel rather than via internet resellers.
11/07/2008 Sony VPL-HW10 1080p SXRD Home Theater Projector Review
Sony's newest 1080p projector, the Bravia VPL-HW10, is now available, and it is easily the finest projector from Sony we've yet seen. The HW10 is brighter than previous models by a decent margin, has excellent contrast, open midtones, a sharp picture, and good placement flexibility. With an official retail price of $3,499, the Sony VPL-HW10 is a great value.
